Kinney Drugs Plans Grand Opening at new Lake Placid location

(Free blood pressure checks and certified diabetes educator to be on site)

Lake Placid, N.Y., January 25, 2010 – Kinney Drugs, a leading community pharmacy and retail business in New York and Vermont, is planning a grand opening celebration at their new Lake Placid location at 1954 Saranac Avenue on Saturday, February 6.    

The new store will have an expanded pharmacy department to include a broader selection of healthcare products, a drive-through window as well as a pharmacist consultation area.  Kinney Drugs offers FREE prescription delivery, EZ Refill phone-in and online refill services, FREE Life Vials, a vial which contains important medical information in the event of an emergency, and their discount prescription plan “KinneyCare”, the program offers over 350 generic prescription medications for $11.99 for a 90 day supply, or less than 14 cents per day.   

Customers will also see a wider range of products including: expanded assortments of health and personal care products, beauty care and cosmetics, an expanded selection of groceries, frozen foods, pet supplies and clothing as well as full seasonal offerings.

The Lake Placid Kinney Drugs grand opening festivities will kick off Saturday, February 6 at 7 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.  The Adirondack Medical Center will be on site to conduct FREE blood pressure screenings from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and the Cancer Services Program of Essex County will be on site from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. providing information on how one can obtain free cancer screenings if they qualify along with a certified diabetes educator to discuss diabetes prevention and care.  The first 250 customers will receive a FREE earth wise bag filled with sample products, FREE 20 oz. Life Water or 24 oz. Kinney Spring water; FREE coffee and doughnuts will also be served.
