Kinney Drugs, a leading healthcare organization in New York and Vermont, today announced they are planning to open a new store in Ithaca, NY. The store will be located at 2255 North Triphammer Road in the existing Triphammer Mall. The new store will be 12,300 square feet in size and positioned on the end cap location, which will be retrofitted to resemble a modern Kinney store both inside and out. Construction is slated to begin the week of August 10th and an opening is planned for the fourth quarter of 2009. This will make a second Kinney location in the Ithaca area.

The pharmacy department of the new store will include a drive-through window, a pharmacist consultation area and an expansive range of health care products. In addition, the new store will also bring a wide range of convenience products and services to Ithaca including: an expanded selection of beauty care, cosmetics, groceries and frozen foods, pet supplies, clothing, full seasonal offerings, a digital photo center, and a new more convenient checkout system.

The Triphammer Mall was opened in August 1972 and is the first and only mall in the Ithaca area owned by local owners.
