Cleansing your skin helps remove "the day" and provides a clean slate for the rest of your skincare, allowing it to work more effectively!

Lot's of things end up on your skin at the end of "the day".

By cleansing away "the day", you help to keep your skin IN CHECK!

The BEST cleansing routine is one you do consistently on most days.

At the very LEAST, cleanse in the evening to remove "the day".
In addition to cleansing at night, cleansing in the morning is helpful if you do any of the following:
  • use products at night designed specifically for nighttime use
    • products designed for use at night can sometimes cause sun sensitivity and should not be worn outside
    • nighttime products are often heavier and creamier than daytime products and may be too thick to wear under makeup
  • sweat during the night
  • have a different skincare routine for daytime
    • If you use makeup primers &/or products with SPFs, it's best to start with a clean slate!




Choose a cleanser based on how your skin looks and feels!

Does your skin often feel dry and tight? Does it have a flaky or rough texture? 
  • Look for cleansers that have a moisturizing formula or cream-like consistency.
Does your skin usually feel comfortable throughout the day with no excessive dryness or oiliness? 
  • You can use most cleansers - find one you enjoy using!
Does your skin always feel hydrated without a moisturizer, and you notice more oil on the skin throughout the day? 
  • Try a cleanser aimed at deep cleansing with ingredients that help balance out oil such as tea tree and witch hazel or contain oil absorbers such as charcoal or clays.
Does your skin usually tingle, sting, itch, or appear red?
  • Choose cleansers that calm and soothe sensitive skin types and avoid astringents.

Luckily, there are TONS of moisturizers available that work well for even high-maintenance skin types – YES, even oil/acne-prone skin types can benefit from a moisturizer!  
  • When your skin is dry or mature, using rich, creamy moisturizers will help restore moisture levels into BALANCE.
  • If you find your skin to be oily at the end of the day and don’t use a moisturizer, your skin may be detecting dehydration and produce MORE oil to restore BALANCE.
